Three Styles of Tarot Reading For Clients

This is the second in a series of articles designed to help my clients get the most out of their readings. The first article is about how to formulate your question(s) for your reading. This article will focus on the style of readings that I offer. I want client to consider not just what their questions will be but also the kind of responses they are looking for which will inform the style of reading they want.

Here are the three styles of readings I offer:

1. Psychological Readings – This style reading is for clients who want a personal growth approach. They are looking for empowerment, inspiration, and guidance. They want to leave their reading with a deeper understand of themselves. These style of reading compliments other therapeutic, Jungian, shadow work and self help modalities. These readings are focused on the client themselves with an emphasis on internal development. They tend to be focused on the present and past with some emphasis on what is to come in the future. They are designed to help you grow and give you the clarity you need to be the best version of you!
2. Spiritual Readings – This style of reading is designed for clients who want to connect with spiritual realms. These readings can create a channel of direct contact with Deities, Spirit, The Universe, God/dess, Angels, Ancestors, Spirit Guides, etc. They can also focus on the client’s soul journey over lifetimes and can look at karmic lessons, soul groups, past lives, twin flames, and much more. They can also be designed to help client’s build their spiritual practice and stay aligned with the flow. These readings are intuitive in nature and tend to focus on the big picture. If you are looking for guidance from the Divine this is the reading style for you.
3. Predictive Readings – I want to make a quick distinction between fortune telling and predictive readings. I don’t like the term fortune telling because I think that it implies a high level of determinism. Traditionally, fortune telling seem to claim that the future is set in stone and they we have no control over our destiny. My approach to predictive readings is one of empowerment. I believe that the cards show us the most likely outcome for the situation at hand. But that the client has agency and can change their future and influence outcomes. These readings can provide advice on how to change a future outcome to best meet your desires. These readings mostly focus on external situations and people and are future oriented. This style of reading can also include finding the location of lost objects. I do offer timing predictions as part of these readings. It is important to note with any predictive reading that the future is not guaranteed and the very act of getting a reading can change the outcome of the event in question. Therefore, it is advisable for clients to remember that predictions are not 100% accurate all of the time.
